Pre-orders of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 went live yesterday and it seems the reception went quite well. The handset went out of stock and Asus announced that the sales had received “tremendous response”. However, as is typical, the company didn’t declare the exact number of units sold. Regardless, if you missed out on the pre-orders, the company will be holding another sale on May 10. Obviously, the 6GB variant is still not available, only the 4GB and 3GB variants are up for sale.
Asus previously used a similar strategy when they launched the ZenFone 2 in India. But with the ZenFone Max Pro M1, it is a whole new level. The Taiwanese company has managed to best Xiaomi’s rates and it has been noticed by the industry. The only chink in the armour of the excellent Max Pro is its camera, particularly, the selfie shooter.
The 3GB/4GB variants don’t have a very pleasing selfie experience when compared to the Note 5 Pro’s excellent shooter. That is why it is recommended to wait for the 6GB variant which comes with an upgraded 16MP front camera. Taking the camera out of the equation, the ZenFone Max Pro is an immense value for money device.
