Sony launched a mid-range Xperia XA2 Plus yesterday silently. The handset is a middle ground between the premium Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra that have been around since January. The highlights of the handset are its polished looks, its hi-res audio, and the 23MP MotionEye camera.

The XA2 Plus is the first device in the XA2 series to come with the 2:1 aspect ratio and the display size is 6.0-inches. It has Full-HD+ resolution and comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It houses a Snapdragon 630 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz and an Adreno 508 GPU. RAM and storage options on the XA2 Plus are 4GB/6GB and 32GB/64GB storage respectively.
In terms of optics, the rear 23MP sensor has a 1/2.3” Exmor RS lens with an 84-degree wide angle and f/2.0 aperture. It can do 4K videos and slow-mo up to 120fps per second. On the flip side, we have an 8MP 1/4” Exmor R sensor with a 120-degree super wide-angle lens. May software features are packed in like Bokeh Mode, Soft Skin, and some other beauty special effects.
The battery on the XA2 Plus is 3580mAh and has Quick Charge 3.0 enabled with USB Type-C. The 3.5mm headphone jack has hi-res audio support and dimensions are is 157 x 75 x 9.6 mm.
Prices of the handset are not yet confirmed but the XA2 Plus will arrive in four shades – Black, Silver, Gold, and Green.
