Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro launched in India; price, specs, and availability

Xiaomi has launched its all-new Redmi Note series smartphone in India. After introducing the Redmi Note 8 Pro last year in October, the tech lifestyle brand has introduced the successor, Redmi Note 9 Pro. It will be available for purchase from March 17th for Rs 12,999 for 4GB + 64GB, while 6GB + 128GB for Rs 15,999. Let’s talk about the specs and features in detail below.

Sporting a 6.67-inch Full-Screen display with full-HD+ display resolution, 2400 x 1080 pixels. The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 20:9 aspect ratio are the highlights of the display section. Sadly, no AMOLED screen in this Redmi Note upgrade either. 

Speaking about the performance, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, which is an octa-core chipset, clock speed at 2.3GHz, it is made out of 8nm process technology. Xiaomi is offering LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. There will be two configurations available including 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. 

The connectivity option adds NavIC support alongside GPS/AGPS, and GLONASS. It’s thanks to the Snapdragon 720G, which is one of the first processors to offer support of India’s very own positioning satellite system. There is a Bluetooth 5.0 version, and Wi-Fi 5 support. The ports include USB Type-C, dual SIM card slots, dedicated microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. 

Moving to the camera department, it has a quadruple rear camera setup, where the primary lens is of 48MP resolution. It’s a Samsung ISOCELL GM2 sensor with an f/1.79 aperture 6P lens setup. Xiaomi is claiming it supports Super Stabilisation support. There is a PDAF, 960fps, and 4k at 30fps support. Other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide lens (120 FOV- Field of View), 5MP macro lens (2cm-10cm), and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is powered by a 16MP resolution lens. 

All this is powered by a 5020mAh capacity battery with 18W fast charging support out of the box. Speaking about the audio features, it has bottom-firing speakers, dual-microphones with noise cancellation.
