Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder and CEO has shared a set of photos that are alleged believed to be of the new upcoming Redmi phone. The Chinese smartphone maker is all set to introduce Redmi’s first smartphone as a separate sub-brand  on January 10. And the photos shared by the founder could be the handset that’s arriving on the 10th.

Could this be a Redmi 7?

Posted on his personal account on Weibo, these images gives us the first clear look at the upcoming Redmi phone. These renders could be an official renders exclusively shared by the brand’s CEO. Let’s take a look at those renders shall we. 

After looking at these three press renders, it is clear that Xiaomi is ready to say bye to its Redmi series as you could see the Redmi branding. The baby is out of the cocoon! This handset is believed to be called Redmi 7 and it could come in at least three colour variants.

Hinting us enough on those colourful banners, the Redmi 7 could be coming in these three colour variants shown; red/purple, blue, and black. Here the two colours seem to be gradient, which is the current trend in the market. 

Along with these images, the founder also shared that this new Redmi 7 would be sporting a 2.5D glass on both side. Further, the rear side of the handset clearly indicates the big camera bump, which could only mean one thing. A large resolution camera sensor, a 48MP resolution Sony sensor must be it.
