Xiaomi POCO F1 with 5.99-inch full-HD+ display and Snapdragon 845 SoC launched in India

Xiaomi has introduced its new sub-brand, POCO. While it isn’t a new thing for the brand to introduce a sub-brand as the manufacturer has a full list of them in China. It is the first time that the brand has introduced a smartphone sub-brand, all other sub-brands are in different categories. This new brand has announced its first phone, which is dubbed as POCO F1. The price of this handset starts at Rs 20,999 for the 6GB variant. It will go on sale on Flipkart and Mi.com from August 29th at 12 PM.

The new POCO F1 comes with a large yet compact 5.99-inch display with 1080 x 2284 pixel resolution and sporting a 19:9 aspect ratio. This will be Xiaomi’s first phone in India with a notch display. There Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE yet to be released in the country, which is available on sale in China.

Talking about the internals of the device it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. This chipset will be accompanied by up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It will be running on the MIUI ROM based on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. Note that Xiaomi is teasing a liquid cooling technology, which shall cool down the system during high-end multitasking/gaming on the phone.

As far as the camera department is concerned, it will come with a dual-rear cameras setup. Where the primary lens would be of 12MP resolution and sport an f/1.8 aperture. Further, it comes with a 4-axis OIS, dual pixel Autofocus and has a pixel size of 1.4 micron for better light capture. Also, there is a support of the dual-LED flash and it can record 4K videos as well. For the selfies, it has a 20MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture. Alongside the front camera, you’d see a dedicated Infrared lens and infrared lighting for Face Unlock. 

The connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS, USB Type-C port, and NFC. The battery capacity it comes with is at 4000mAh capacity. The Kevlar variant is priced at Rs 29,999, while the standard 8GB model will retail for Rs 28,999. And if you’re going for the 6GB/128GB it will fetch you Rs 23,999. 

Interestingly, the company has partnered up with HDFC, which will offer an instant Rs 1,000 cashback. Further, the JIO partnership offers benefits up to Rs 8,000 and up to 6TB of high-speed data.
