Xiaomi India introduces 55-inch Mi QLED TV 4K with Android 10 and 30W built-in speakers for Rs 54,999

Xiaomi India has come up with new 4K TV series in the country by introducing Mi QLED TV 4K. It is a 55-inch TV featuring the latest Quantum Dot technology panel underneath, which promises to deliver the best colour and true-to-life viewing experience. Xiaomi has already introduced such premium TVs in the Chinese market earlier. The new Mi QLED 4K TV, becomes the first 4K television brought to India by Xiaomi.

Mi QLED TV 4K — Design and Display

The Mi QLED 4K TV measures a 55-inches panel with screen to body ratio of 96%. It’s a 4K TV, which naturally means four times Full HD that translates to 3840 x 2160 resolution. This panel encloses in an aluminium alloy frame, which is said to be featuring a sandblasted metallic finish. On the rear, the TV equips carbon finish.

The display stars a Quantum Dot 4K panel, which brings in better-saturated colours and a wider colour screen spectrum. The display further supports all the popular HDR codecs comprising Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR 10, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), useful for achieving enhanced image.

On top of it, Xiaomi also includes its Vivid Picture Engine catered to Indian audiences which assures to deliver real-world detail and texture. Besides, there’s the company’s Reality Flow feature embedded to offer smoother viewing experience while watching content like movies or sports and during gameplay.

Mi QLED TV 4K — Tech Specs

The new 4K TV integrates a MediaTek’s 64-bit quad-core processor that also highlights Mali G52 for graphics. This should allow the new TV to handle videos across streaming platforms. For storage, the TV features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The TV also equips ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) for more enhanced gameplay. The TV switches to this mode automatically and can handle 4K gameplay at 60fps with a lower input lag of 5 milliseconds. It further features e-ARC (through HDMI) mode to handle better bandwidth, the company suggests.

Further, the Mi QLED TV features 30W audio output with six built-in speakers setup. These include four drivers alongside two tweeters, which work together and claim to deliver multi-dimensional sound experience. The frequencies here range from 60Hz-20KHz. These speakers support all popular audio codecs along with Dolby Audio and DTS-HD certification.

Mi QLED TV 4K — Android 10 TV with PatchWall

The Mi QLED TV 4K ships with Android 10 TV running on the latest PatchWall version. The PatchWall interface includes new Universal Search, User centre (to add watchlists, glancing at what to watch next and more), Kids Mode, and smart recommendations. Since its Android 10 TV-based, after all, it arrives with Chromecast built-in and Google Assistant support.

The other highlights and the Mi QLED TV 4K connectivity options include HDMI 2.1, eARC, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi. There are three HDMI 2.1 ports in toral, two USB ports, an ethernet port, 3.5mm audio jack, and one optical input. Lastly, the 4K also gets a Mi remote featuring Mi Quick Mute, Mi Quick Settings button, and a Mi Quick Wake mode.

Furthermore, Xiaomi says that the PatchWall interface already supports more than twenty-five OTT streaming platforms. Two new platforms, including Discovery+ and Lionsgate, are said to be coming soon.

Mi QLED TV 4K — Pricing and Availability

The latest 55-inch Mi QLED TV 4K retails at Rs 54,999, making the TV sit on top in pricing alongside the company’s older Mi TV 4X 65-inch model. The QLED TV will be available across Mi.com, Mi Home, Flipkart and other retail stores across the country starting December 21st. Notably, the TV features in single colour variant, which is Metallic Grey.
