Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.0 Oreo update stopped officially

Xiaomi Mi A1 had started receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update last year in December. But the rollout has been stopped by the company as it degraded the performance of the smartphone. 

Users of the Xiaomi Mi A1 had started complaining about the poor performance of their phone after the Android update. Reports even claim that the battery was draining very quickly and the Oreo update interfered with the Bluetooth connection of the phone. Complains regarding the dysfunction of the ambient display notifications also surfaced. Users complained that they were facing issues in receiving a call while their display was turned off. 

The Android 8.0 Oreo update released in December and weighed 1,104.1MB. It brought in some new features like notification dots, notification channels, Picture-in-Picture mode Autofill Framework, Smart text selection, new emojis, and more.

The company has not officially announced when the next update would be rolled out. 

Specifications of the Xiaomi Mi A1

The device has a 5.5-inch with a resolution of 1080 x 1920p. It has a dual camera set up with a 12MP + 12MP back cameras and a 5MP front camera with a non-removable 3,080mAh battery. The smartphone is available in Gold, Black, and Rose-Gold colours and weighs up to 165g. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with the option of expanding memory via microSD card. It has a fingerprint sensor at the back and Proximity, Light, Accelerometer, Compass, and Gyroscope. 

Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched for a price of Rs 14,999 but a few days back it has got a permanent cut of Rs 1,000 which brings the cost of the phone down to Rs 13,999.
