Xiaomi Mi 6X Hatsune Miku Edition gets release date in China

If you’ve been in the news curve lately, you might have heard about the Mi 6X Hatsune Miku Edition. You probably know what the Mi 6X is. But what or who in the world is Hatsune Miku. Well, let’s get that out of the way first. Hatsune Miku is not a physical person. Rather, it is a singing voice synthesis program (called Vocaloid) that is very popular in China with millions of fans. That explains why Xiaomi is tying up for a special edition. In fact, this is not the first. There was a Redmi Note 4X as well with the same edition a year or so back.

Xiaomi has previously teased the Mi 6X that will get a completely new paint job with the Hatsune Miku Edition. Since then, renders of the phone have also leaked online. We’re expecting the handset to debut on June 28 (tomorrow). The Mi 6X Hatsune Miku Edition consists of a special Turquoise colour phone with the Vocaloid’s digital avatar printed at the back of the phone. The front of the phone is White and that’s pretty much it. We might even see software themes and pre-installed wallpapers that blend in with that new shade of Blue in the Mi 6X.

Aside from that, the handset is every bit the Mi 6X that launched some weeks back in April. For vital components, it has a Snapdragon 660 SoC, a 5.99-inch Full-HD+ display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
