Xiaomi is one of the leading smartphone vendors in the world right now. The company has confirmed its presence in the Mobile World Congress 2018 which is due to be held in Barcelona, Spain. The CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, confirmed in December that the Mi 7 by Xiaomi will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It is highly likely that the phone will be launched at the MWC 2018.
Lei Jun has also announced that the Mi 7 will arrive during the Chinese spring season and you should know that the spring season in China begins from February.
Along with the Mi 7, Sony is also likely to launch its Xperia XZ Pro flagship in the MWC 2018. This phone will also be powered by the Snapdragon 845. Samsung has officially announced in the CES 2018 about the MWC arrival of its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones.
If these rumours about the Mi 7 launch are to be believed, Xiaomi will become the first Chinese OEM to release a phone with Qualcomm’s latest processor. Lei Jun has also mentioned that the company is now focussing on AI and it is likely that its major smartphones will be laced with the same in the coming months. If this is true then the Mi 7 can be expected to launch with an AI-powered camera which will click extraordinary pictures.
The Mi 7 is speculated to be the first phone by Xiaomi to feature a wireless charging feature and with this, the phone has itself become an enigma since it will have a lot of ‘firsts’ for Xiaomi.
