The facebook-owned messaging platform introduced this new feature a while ago, specifically for WhatsApp Business app. The feature is exclusive to the messaging platform’s business model currently. The new button can be seen on any of the business chat pages right beside the call button. This new feature allows users to buy from products’ catalogue, provided from the respective business, without the need to leave the chat app or calling the business for that matter. This does businesses, small businesses, in particular, to save money annually on managing calls, SMSs and emails too, suggests WhatsApp.
With 175 million active users on WhatsApp Business chat app, this feature enables all kinds of businesses to sell their products on the chat app more swiftly. The messaging platform also suggests that businesses create a personalised catalogue for their customers so that they can search, find and buy products more easily.
For instance, if there’s a cake business that is set up on the WhatsApp Business account, the firm has to create a catalogue of cakes through which a user can browse, select and buy the cake instantaneously. Businesses can create the catalogue through Business tool settings on the WhatsApp Business app settings. The catalogues can include price, images, description, service code and more.
