The vivo Z1Pro: Does It Deserve Your Money?

You know the saying- “Competition is always good for the consumers”? Well, the competition for the throne in the sub 20K smartphone market has never been this high. With so many brands rolling out great smartphones, vivo has decided to show its might.

The company recently launched the vivo Z1Pro in India, at a starting price tag of Rs. 14,990, making it the best phone in the sub 20k bracket. And to be honest, the smartphone is fully-loaded with features and specification in this price range. Here are some of the key highlights.

Snapdragon 712 SoC AI Engine is a beast

On paper, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 seems like a minor upgrade over Snapdragon 710. Even the semiconductor manufacturer promised an increase of 10% in overall performance. However, the kind of boost we acknowledged in Z1Pro performance is incredible as compared the other phones with 710 SoC. And I’m not just saying this in terms of the price point, the vivo Z1Pro has enough horsepower to stand next to a couple of budget flagships as well. In our review, we saw the device hit a benchmark score of 1,83,907 in AnTuTu, which is way ahead of competing Snapdragon 710 devices. As expected, the device showed no signs of lag anywhere in our day-to-day usage. In fact, even gaming on this phone feels great.

We’ve talked more about the vivo Z1 Pro’s gaming capabilities here, so make sure to take a look at that.

Capture everything around you

While value-for-money is the major driving factor for a majority of the consumers, the camera remains one of the top-most priorities for many buyers even today. The Z1Pro comes with a Triple Rear Camera setup, comprising of a 16MP (f/1.78) primary sensor along with an 8MP AI Super Wide-Angle camera. Lastly, there is a 2MP depth sensor for bokeh effect.

To be honest, there is a lot to like about this device. Both the hardware and the software are so well-optimized that everything works just perfectly. The AI Super wide-angle sensor sets it apart from the herd, making it one of the only smartphones to actually offer a wide sensor in this price range.

As for the software, everything works pretty well. There are a plethora of filters here, and the system can automatically suggest optimal filters based on your subject and lighting conditions. Adding to the AI capabilities, the camera app also comes with portrait framing, allowing you to click a better image with decent framing in the first place. There’s also a dedicated night mode in the camera. It always manages to perform quite similar to some of the best flagship smartphones out there.

Lasts all day long

The vivo Z1Pro feels like Captain America because no matter what you throw at it, the device manages it with an “I can do this all day” attitude. Now, while the processor is quite powerful, what keeps it going, is the humongous 5,000mAh battery. Heavy users can easily go through the day, and then some.

Heck, I’ve had instances where I’ve got more than 7 hours of SOT and the device still had about 22% of juice left in it. And even when the battery is low, topping it up is never a hassle. The device comes with 18W fast charging as well. Oh, and that’s not all. The Z1Pro also comes with OTG reverse charging so you can use it as a power bank as well. The vivo Z1 Pro isn’t just great for you, it’s great for the people around you as well.

Fully loaded personified

The vivo Z1Pro not only delivers but excels in possibly all the departments that are required from a smartphone at this price. It is truly one of the best budget smartphones that you can buy right now. It offers great cameras, a powerful processor, and an all-day battery. The vivo Z1 Pro is truly #fullyloaded.

You can buy vivo Z1Pro from either Flipkart or vivo India E-store. There are some additional benefits if you order the device before 18th July.
