Vivo Y1s is the new budget smartphone that has been announced discreetly by the company in India. Vivo has added the Y1s smartphone in its “Y” series line up on the Vivo India website. The listing also suggests upgrading to Vivo Y1s with Jio Life. Meaning, it comes as part of a partner offer with Jio Digital Life. Vivo had partnered with Jio for several other phones in the past, Vivo Y50, for instance.
Vivo Y1s — Design and Specs
The Vivo Y1s arrives in a 6.22-inches Halo FullView Display. It is an LCD display that comes in HD+ resolution. The full-screen display achieves a screen to body ratio of 88.6%. On the rear, the Vivo Y1s features a unibody design with gradient finishing and a single camera housing. These gradient finishes of the device include two colour variants — Aura Blue, and Olive Black.
The Vivo Y1s draws power from a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, which is an octa-core processor with clock speeds of up to 2.3GHz. The device features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It further supports expandable storage of up to 256GB. On the software front, the Vivo Y1s ships with Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10.5 out of the box.
As for optics, it’s quite interesting as Vivo had opted to a single camera on the back consisting of a 13MP sensor. It comes with f/2.2 aperture and supports photo, beauty, video and time-lapse modes. The dewdrop notch on the front beholds a 5MP selfie camera.
The Vivo Y1s packs in a decent 4030mAh battery capacity. However, it doesn’t come with any fast charging support. The other highlights of the device include Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, micro USB 2.0, OTG, FM radio, and GPS.
Vivo Y1s — Pricing
While the official pricing hasn’t been put up on the Vivo India site yet, well-known retailer, Mahesh Telecom suggests it costs Rs 7,990 and will sell as a Jio Exclusive.
