Vivo X60 5G series with Samsung’s Exynos 1080 SoC and ZEISS powered rear cameras to launch on December 29

Vivo X60 5G series is the next anticipated 5G smartphone series from the company scheduled to launch in China this month. The new Vivo phones comprising – Vivo X60 and X60 Pro smartphones will be launching on December 29th, (could be the last smartphone launch of this year). These are now confirmed to come with Exynos 1080 chipset, developed by Samsung. The Korean tech giant has recently launched this chipset and stated that Vivo phones would be the first phones featuring this chipset.

Vivo X60 5G Series — New series with new partnerships

Vivo’s Chinese website now lists the new series. The listing suggests what to expect from the Samsung chipset powered smartphones. The listing also implies that these phones will also feature new OrginOS, a modern outlined Android skin for Vivo phones set to replace the FuntouchOS.

Further, Vivo has recently partnered with German-based Carl Zeiss, popularly known as ZEISS, which develops optical systems and optoelectronics. Nokia has been partnered with Zeiss for a decade now, and Vivo is the new smartphone maker that has joined the list. The goal of this partnership is to bring better cameras for Vivo phones. And, the Vivo X60 series, will be the first to be featuring it.

Exynos 1080

Vivo has utilised Samsung made Exynos processor on its phones in the past, Vivo X30 Pro, for example. And, the newly announced Exynos 1080 SOC now powers the forthcoming Vivo X60 series. It is a new premium mid-range chipset which incorporates four ARM Cortex A78 CPU cores (with clock speeds of 2.8GHz), and four Cortex A55 cores are making it an octa-core processor also featuring ARM’s Mali G78 CPU.

Vivo X60 5G Series — Expected Specifications

The other specifications imply a triple rear camera for Vivo X60 and quadruple cameras for X60 Pro. The images suggest, the new ZEISS lens equips only on the Pro variant. And is likely not appearing on the non-pro variant. However, both feature a single selfie shooter embedded in the punch hole cut-out.

The listing further suggests Vivo X60 Pro could be featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Vivo X60 could comprise either 8GB RAM with 128GB storage or 8GB RAM with 256GB of onboard storage. Furthermore, the Vivo X60 series could feature three to four finishes depending on the Pro and the Non-Pro variant.
