Smartphone maker Vivo has now launched the Vivo V9 in Thailand, a day ahead of its launch in India. Vivo didn’t do much to keep the Vivo V9 a secret to begin with. So here’s a rundown of the whole device.
You probably already know that the Vivo V9 is a part of a generation of iPhone clones that come with a notch. It also has a similar vertically aligned dual camera setup on the rear like the Apple flagship. The device is full metal with the curved rear being plated with glass. The front is dominated by the huge 6.3-inch Full-HD+ display. The notch means the resolution is 2280 x 1080p in a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen-to-body ratio is a massive 90%.
As expected, the Vivo V9 is equipped with the able Snapdragon 626 SoC and graphics duties are handled by the Adreno 506 GPU. On the software side of things, it is encouraging to see Android 8.1 Oreo being supplied by Vivo albeit with a mix of FunTouch OS 4.0. Vivo’s huge 6+ inch display will be fueled by a somewhat small 3260mAh battery.
On the camera side of things, the front has a 24MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Needless to say, it comes with a portrait mode, AI Bokeh mode, and definitely AI beautification features. The rear has a combo of 16MP + 5MP sensors and an LED flash. The fingerprint reader also resides at the back.
The Vivo V9 also has a Hybrid dual SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro USB 2.0. We’re not aware of the pricing info as of yet but you won’t have to wait a lot since the Indian launch is tomorrow.
