Vivo plans on expanding in Africa and Europe with Qualcomm’s help

Though Vivo is a top brand in China and India it yet has to establish its name outside of these two countries. This change will probably be shown next year when the company expands to Africa and Europe. To expand its position the company has signed a memorandum worth $4 billion with Qualcomm. This will boost their partnership and patent sharing to bring in 5G mobile phones to the market.

Qualcomm Snapdragon processor

Vivo has launched the X20 with a Face Wake (Vivo’s facial recognition) on a 12 MP front camera and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset. It was the first company to do a demo of a fingerprint reader along with iris scanning, and scanning palm prints.

Similarly, Oppo and Xiaomi have made a $12 billion deal with Qualcomm. This deal will be for three years, to develop 3D scanning technology. It will hopefully be developed by Himax and Qualcomm.
