We recently reported that Vivo was making an important announcement regarding their Vivo Apex phone. And they have. The good news is that the handset will go into mass production in mid-2018. If all goes well, it should be on shelves two months after that. Vivo announced a couple of other interesting things at the event in China.
The Vivo Apex managed to grab the limelight at MWC 2018 even with the presence of the Galaxy S9. Of course, it wasn’t without reason. The handset had killer looks and some innovative tech going for it. Chiefly, the full-screen design was what wooed the public. With the highest screen-to-body ratio to date, the Vivo Apex looked stunning. Add to it the in-display fingerprint scanner which works on the bottom half of the screen and the pop-up camera and it was a winner.
Obviously, the handset was a concept device and people were sceptical the device would ever go into mass production. Now, that it has, we’re very much looking forward to it. Vivo also revealed part specifications of the phone saying that it will rock the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Moreover, it has a 5.99-inch OLED display with COF technology. Much of the hardware details like the dual camera, RAM, storage, and battery are still under wraps. Neither did the company reveal the pricing of the handset.
Judging from the high-quality processor, we expect high-quality price as well to accompany the device.
