Oppo and Vivo have really raised the bar for bezel-less phones to a whole new level this year. This leads us to inevitably to questions regarding Xiaomi’s Mi Mix series that was previously one of the most coveted bezel-less devices. A record screen-to-body ratio of above 92 percent on the awesome Find X has left the likes of the Mix 2s in the dust.

However, Xiaomi might not rest on its past conquests as it plans for a Mi Mix 3 this year. A new supposed teaser has appeared today that not only hints at the launch schedule but also outlines what Xiaomi has been tinkering with all along the way.
The teaser has been unearthed from the home ground of all leaks, Weibo, and we’re not sure about the identity of the designer. What we can see for certain is a selfie camera that is very closely resembling the Nex design. Now, this follows a number of leaked live images that depicted a virtually bezel-less bottom on a Mi Mix 3. Moreover, the teaser suggests a launch schedule of “2018.9”.

Interestingly, Xiaomi also toyed with the idea of a pop-out selfie camera in 2015 with a patent. However, as we know, Vivo was the first to market with it. If this ends up happening, we might see other manufacturers also plotting the same route in their quest to a bezel-less future to beat the Chinese phone makers.
