We’ve recently witnessed an Xperia XZ3 in the flesh, and although the snaps of the live handset weren’t ideal to gleam at, it was the first look at the handset. Today, a new model number H8416 belonging to a Sony phone just surfaced on GFXBench platform. With the kind of high-end specifications revealed, it wouldn’t be a far stretch to say that it is an Xperia XZ3.
The handset alleged to be the Xperia XZ3 has a 5.9-inch display with QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440p. This is pretty much the first Sony device to sport such a high resolution. Moving further inside, it has the Snapdragon 845 SoC, accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This Sony model number H8416 will be running Android 9.0. This is definitely flagship material. Obviously, GFXBench listings aren’t as authentic as TENAA listings so we’d be very cautious before pronouncing this as the Xperia XZ3.
As for some camera schematics that can be gathered from speculation, the smartphone will get a 19MP + 12MP combo, a bit unusual but in line with Sony’s standards. GFXBench shows a single 19MP snapper at the back of the device. This is somewhat doubtful since the live images suggested a dual camera setup. Further, the renowned camera lens supplier also endows the front with a 13MP lens.
The Xperia XZ2 launched in March and if the six month launch cycle is to be intact, Sony might launch the Xperia XZ3 soon.
