Amongst the smartphones that Sony might launch at the Mobile World Congress, the Xperia XZ Pro is a strong candidate. A similarly named handset has appeared on HTML benchmark tests today. It gives away some important specs of the Sony device. Now, this supposed handset is likely to be what we called the Xperia XZ2 Pro judging from the specs revealed here.
The handset will surely be a flagship-grade device and the HTML benchmark test also reassures us of that. The phone with model number H8116 is reported to be running Android 8.1 Oreo. The same model number has also been spotted earlier with a UAProfile suggesting a 4K OLED display. That would be a first for any smartphone. Of course, we understand Sony can pull this off if they want to.
Also, the handset will sport an 18:9 aspect ratio display as Sony steps out of the traditional thick bezel design after a long time. Other rumoured specs of the Xperia XZ2 Pro include a Snapdragon 845 chipset, a dual camera of 18MP + 12MP configuration, and IP68 rating. Also, it is expected to house dual-SIM support, microSD card slot, and a 3420mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro will go on sale later on in June, current info suggests, with a hefty price tag of 6000 Yuan or ($950 approx.) Other handsets that might launch alongside it include the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact.
