Even as Sony continues to suffer First high-res renders of Sony’s upcoming Xperia XA3 line have just freshly hit the Internet today. The Xperia XA line is the mid-range series of the Japanese brand and the XA3 will be a replacement of the Xperia XA2 that debuted alongside the XA2 Ultra in February this year. The leak is brought to us by Mysmartprice and Onleaks and there’s a 360 degree CAD video as well to give you all the eye-candy you will need. We will leave a link to the video below.
Looking at the CAD, the first obvious thing is the change in the frontal fascia. While the Xperia XA2 had fat top and bottom bezels, the Xperia XA3 gets rid of most of that fat. The other big change is the dual camera setup which was not on the XA2. Also, the addition of a side-mounted fingerprint reader is a nice extra. As for the dimensions, the source says the handset measures 155.7 x 68.3 x 8.4mm. The screen size is 5.9-inches which is another big step up from the 5.2-inches of the predecessor. The rectangular aesthetic has still not gone away though and the XA3 looks like a thick slab which is reportedly 8.9mm thick.
The Xperia XA2 also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C. On the right side you’ll see the power button and also a camera shutter button along with the volume rockers. That’s pretty much to the CAD. As for the specs, not a lot is known although we can definitely make some educated guesses. We expect a Snapdragon 660 or something of that level since we saw a Snapdragon 630 on the Xperia XA2.
The Xperia XA3 could possibly launch alongside the Xperia XA3 Ultra at CES 2019 which is un January. That’s still some way off, till then we can expect more info to trickle in regarding the new mid-range handsets.
