Skype enters the league of photo effects and filters!

Skype launches new features

After Snapchat, Instagram, FaceBook, and god know how many others, Skype has also entered the league of photo effects and filters. The video calling app has introduced the features in its new update. The post on their forum is pretty detailed but we all know that this is just a way to fit in the current social media trend!

The new AI effects have been launched for photos and highlights. The filters are pretty identical to Snapchat (obviously) and you just need to click the wand icon on the top of your screen to activate them. You can then go on to change the masks with a right or left swipe. Copying Snapchat completely, isn’t it?

The smart AI of Microsoft can recognize your age and emotions. The effects can be applied to both selfies and rear camera shots to make them interesting. Some of the masks and effects change with holidays and weekdays, says the company.

New filters on Skype

You can share your pictures with masks and filters in private chats, group conversations, and Highlights. With brands following Apple in terms of innovation and apps following the same trend of “smart filters”, we are just hoping that an app as basic as SMS doesn’t get this AI!
