Sharp launches Aquos S3 Mini with mini Essential Phone-like notch

The name Sharp Aquos does ring a bell, doesn’t it? Well, that’s because it was the pioneer of the thin bezel not so long ago. Now, the company has launched a sort of a mini version of the Aquos S3, called Aquos S3 Mini.

As the name suggests, it is a miniature Aquos S3 that comes with an Essential-style notch. The shiny body of the phone has Black, Blue, and Gold colour paint jobs. The bottom chin houses a fingerprint reader and a Sharp branding crammed on top of it. The display itself measures 5.5-inch and makes for an 87.5% screen-to-body ratio. Due to the notch, the screen has a weird 1080 x 2040p resolution.

Under the hood, the Aquos S3 Mini harbours a Snapdragon 630 CPU that is a very able and tested performer. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage with room for expansion.

For photography, the Aquos S3 Mini is armed with a 16MP single f/2.0 aperture while the notch is home to a 20MP shooter. The handset also features Face Unlock and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat topped with Sharp’s own Smile UI. Finally, the package is backed by a 3020mAh battery with USB Type-C.
