The secret menu button of the Google Pixel 2 and XL turns out to be a bug

Google Pixel 2

In our recent article about the Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL, we talked about their speedy shipments to the first batch pre-orders. A new information about the new Pixels has surfaced the internet. According to this report, the secret menu button in the Pixel  2 and 2 XL is not really an additional help. On the contrary, it is a completely unintentional feature which has taken hold in the new Pixels.

Yes, it is a bug! It has been confirmed by CNET as well. So, if you’re one of the lucky customers who has got the Pixel 2 and 2 XL from online stores or Verizon, then this bug is there on your phone as well.

You can witness this feature by tapping the bottom right corner of your display, just to the right of the recent apps key, and you’ll feel a haptic feedback as if a button from the Navigation bar was pressed. This ‘menu key’ used to be a part of the Android navigation bar before the on-screen keys were introduced!

This ghost menu key will be fixed by Google in the next OTA update and it is not going to stick around for long, that is certain!
