Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra come with two-tone design and new camera modules, leaked promo reels suggests

The Korean tech giant is gearing up to launch its next flagship series phones, Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra, as early as next month in the new year. While we know that they are the next premium flagships from the handset maker, its renders have been circulating on the web lately. Folks at Android Police have managed to obtain the Galaxy S21 series’ devices’ promo reels, which reveal what to expect from the next flagship.

Samsung Galaxy S21 5G — and the S21+ 5G

Android Police report showcases all the three phones in its promo reels, which indicate the Galaxy S21 5G design. Going by the leaked promos, we can witness the device is in a new Phantom Violet colour. It has a full-screen flat display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, the famous Infinity-O display from Samsung.

The back of all the devices including the Galaxy S21 comes in a two-tone finish, the promos suggest. Meaning, the copper camera module finish extends to the device’s glass frame (in this case Phantom Violet glass frame) that gives a unique design aesthetic on the Galaxy S21 5G device.

The design here is certainly unusual from the predecessors, which featured a camera module protruding on the back, while that’s not the case anymore on these successors. This means they could reasonably rest flat on the surface than the S20 series, in comparison, which is good.

The report further indicates these triple cameras comprise a 12MP primary camera coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 64MP telephoto sensor. The rear flash no longer integrates into the new camera module; instead, it’s laid flush on the glass frame itself.

Moreover, the report also indicates the sibling Galaxy S21+ design is relatively identical to the S21, including the Phantom violet colour option and the cameras. However, the prime difference here could be the screen real estate and battery capacity, presumably bigger.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G — the flagship with quad cameras

The S21 Ultra hither happens to be the highlight of the series, thus the name. The Ultra here shares design aesthetics with the S21(s). However, the promo reel implies a single colour variant, which is in black. It’s unclear at this point whether it also befalls in other colour options. Nonetheless, the design element with the camera module happens to be alike with the S21 devices.

But since it’s an Ultra, it comes with significant differences: a curved display and quad rear cameras. The curve display on the Ultra also features a punch hole indicating Infinity-O display with curves on the edges, unlike the S21 devices. Further, there are four rear cameras, and an additional laser autofocus system, which ditches the ToF sensor from the predecessor.

The report further suggests that quad cameras comprise — a 108MP primary sensor, 10MP periscopic lens with 10x super-telephoto zoom. And, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and another 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom capabilities.
