Samsung working on a no notch, no bezel, and a rear display-enabled Galaxy smartphone

Samsung Smartphone - Patent Design

Samsung is looking to part ways completely with bezels on its next Galaxy phone. As per the new patent filed by the South Korean giant, the company is believed to be working a futuristic smartphone with no notch or chin on the bottom.

While this news may feel like it is a Samsung Galaxy S10’s concept, but it doesn’t align with the fact that this concept shows a display on its rear, just under camera unit. The company is unlikely to name this as its next Galaxy S smartphone. But we do believe that it shall be a flagship product.

This patent was registered with US Patent and Trademark Office this week. It may not be reminiscent to a Galaxy S series handset, but it sure points to a Note phone. While Galaxy Note 9 design is almost confirmed, we feel this may be the Note 10. We know it’s too early to tell, which is why you should take this speculation with a pinch of salt.

New Samsung Phone: No Notch, No Bezel, and No Audio Jack either

The concept reveals that it won’t introduce notch, but will cut down the chin on top to a minimum. Whereas the bottom chin is almost gone. That is not the only interesting part of these patents. If you look closely, you’d see no audio jack on the top or bottom edge of the phone.

With brands like OPPO and Vivo introducing innovative ways towards a bezel-less future, the industry expects some concrete take from Samsung as well. Being hailed as one of the largest providers of premium smartphones, the South Korean company is expected to produce one such unique offering in the coming months. And with this patent, we may have already gotten the first look of that Galaxy handset.
