Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is now official in the Indian market. It comes as the second Galaxy M series device in the country after the recent release of the Galaxy M33 5G smartphone. The Galaxy M53 5G features a new Dimensity chipset, a bigger camera sensor, a higher refresh rate display and a decent battery with fast charge support. This mid-range smartphone will go on sale in India starting from April 29th.

The Galaxy M53 5G has a 120Hz refresh rate screen, which measures 6.58-inches and has a Full HD+ resolution. It is a sAMOLED+ Infinity-O display with 420 nits of peak brightness that further has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The display encloses in a minimal looking design and in a slimmer form factor measuring 7.9mm in thickness. The Galaxy M53 5G features two colour variants: Deep Ocean Blue and Mystique Green.

Hardware

Underneath, the Galaxy M53 5G is powered by a 6nm Dimensity 900 SoC from MediaTek that promises clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz. It further relies on ARM Mali G68 GPU for graphics. Moreover, to control heat dissipation during resource-intensive tasks, the device also features a Vapour Cooling Chamber on the inside. There is up to 8GB of RAM accompanied by the RAM Plus feature that gives an additional RAM of up to 16GB. The device’s onboard storage includes 128GB; however, users can still increase it up to 1TB through MicroSD.

There is a quad-camera system on the rear, which features a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor (with a 123-degree field of view), a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, there is a 32MP camera enclosed in the punch hole for selfies. The cameras here pack in a bunch of features such as Object Eraser, Photo remaster, and video call effects that include background blurring.

The device ships with OneUI 4, and Samsung promises two years of operating system upgrades and four years of security updates. There is a 5000mAh battery that powers the device supporting the company’s 25W fast charging via USB Type-C interface.

Furthermore, the existing Galaxy M users can get an additional Rs 2,000 off on the purchase of the Galaxy M53 5G. The sale of the device starts on April 29th at noon.
