Samsung’s upcoming budget phones, the Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ (for India) have been making various rounds on the internet. The latter of the two has appeared on Slashleaks today. The leaked images show a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the phone. If this dummy model is anywhere near to reality, then the Galaxy J6+ will be the first Samsung phone to have such a fingerprint sensor.
According to the leaked images, the sensor will be placed on the right side of the phone. The power button, interestingly, is on the right as well. However, it has been placed a little higher than the fingerprint sensor. The volume rockers are on the left. We also see a dual camera setup on the alleged Galaxy J6+, positioned vertically. We do not see much of its display, so we can’t speculate much about the same.
Samsung India tweets about a J-series phone with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor
In another news, Samsung India has tweeted a valuable information. The tweet confirms the arrival of a J-series phone with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The leaked images of the Galaxy J6+ now seem credible as the company has itself confirmed the new position of the sensor.
The link in the tweet takes us directly to Samsung’s official page about the Galaxy J6+ and Galaxy J4+. Many features are listed on the page including the presence of an infinity display, side fingerprint sensor, dual rear cameras, AR Photos etc.
Another source has made a valuable speculation about the specs of the Galaxy J6+. A 6-inch HD+ IPS LCD display is likely to be included on the phone along with a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. The phone can come with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of ROM. The dual rear camera setup might include a 13MP + 5MP sensor and an 8MP selfie snapper. The battery capacity on the Galaxy J6+ is likely to be 3300mAh and it might come with Android 8.1 Oreo as well. The phone seems to be heading to India soon.
