Samsung has just added a new member to its 2018 lineup of J series devices today. The handset – the Galaxy J4, is a low-end smartphone with bare-bones essentials aimed at the budget conscious segment of India. The smartphone was detailed comprehensively by a Mumbai retailer yesterday that led us to believe an official confirmation is close. The Samsung Galaxy J4 price in India starts at Rs 9,990.
Samsung Galaxy J4 Specifications
The Galaxy J4 comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 720p resolution. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio in an age when 18:9 has become the norm even in low-end devices. The J4 is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 7570 octa-core chipset with 2GB of RAM in tow. There is a 3GB of RAM variant as well while storage options are 16GB and 32GB. Also, microSD expansion is an option with the budget handset.
In terms of design, the Galaxy J4 maintains the design of its predecessors in the J series with metal build. It doesn’t come with a removable back like the J2 though, which might be a good or bad thing. The battery at the surface of the chassis packs a 3,000mAh juice. Samsung is also brave enough to omit the fingerprint reader on this Rs 10k phone maybe thinking nobody will notice it.
Samsung has at least took the pain to load the handset with Android Oreo on top of its custom skin. The camera setup is fairly average with a 13MP rear sensor and a 5MP front selfie shooter.
The handset also has 4G VoLTE support, Dual SIM, and Bluetooth 4.2. The 2GB variant costs Rs 9,990 and the 3GB + 32GB variant costs Rs 11,990. It’s available in Black, Blue, and Gold. Let us know in the comments section whether you’d be interested in a Samsung budget-friendly smartphone or not.
