Samsung Galaxy F62 with Exynos 9825 SoC to go official in India on February 15th

Galaxy F62

Samsung has started teasing its new Galaxy smartphone in India — the Galaxy F62. It is the first device under Rs 25,000 price segment to feature one of the flagship Exynos processors. It’s the same processor, which powered the Galaxy Note 10 series in various regions including India. The company had started teasing the Galaxy F62 smartphone on Flipkart, which further reveals what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy device.

Samsung Galaxy F62 — What to expect?

According to the Flipkart teaser, the Galaxy F62 will be launched in the country on February 15th at Noon. The teaser implies the device featuring a punch-hole display aka Infinity-O display developed by Samsung, on the front. On the rear, we can expect a square camera module incorporating quad cameras side-by-side, and the LED flash right below it.

The teaser further implies that the device is designed and Made in India. The other prominent information conveyed through the teasers is the Exynos 9825 SoC. It’s one of Samsung’s flagship chipset, which earlier featured in the Galaxy Note 10 series, back in 2019. The caveat here is that the Galaxy Note 10 series came under premium tier in pricing; however, the upcoming Galaxy F62 will be incorporating the same processor in a much affordable mid-range price point ranging from Rs 20,000-Rs 25,000, Samsung suggests.

Exynos 9825 SoC

The Exynos 9825 is deemed a flagship SoC built on a 7nm process for those unaware. The chipset utilises two powerful Cortex A55 cores coupled with four Cortex A55 cores. For gaming, it has Mali G76 MP12 GPU. This is also a 5G ready chipset, meaning, when paired with Samsung’s Exynos Modem 5100, it makes the device 5G capable. Hence, it wouldn’t be surprising to see if the upcoming Galaxy F62 also brings in the 5G capabilities. This could make it one of the affordable 5G mid-range devices after Moto G 5G, OnePlus Nord, considering the price segment (Rs 20K-25K) implied by Samsung.

While the Flipkart teaser doesn’t showcase anything more about the device specifics just yet, it does reveal some of the benchmarking scores on what this powerful Exynos 9825 SoC on the Galaxy F62 could accomplish. It includes the Antutu 8 score >452000, >2400 Geekbench score, and 68 GFXBench 5 score.
