Samsung has announced yet another smartphone with Exynos 850 SoC — the Samsung Galaxy F12. This comes as the second model featuring the SoC, after the recent Galaxy M12 smartphone. Along with the SoC, the Galaxy F12 smartphone comes with a higher refresh rate display as the Galaxy M12; also features a similar rear camera module, akin setup, and it even boasts a bigger battery. The design, however, is slightly different though.

Samsung Galaxy F12 — Display and Design

The Galaxy F12 features an Infinity V display from Samsung, which measures 6.5-inches and comes with HD+ resolution. It has two refresh rates, which is a standard 60Hz and higher 90Hz. The latter is meant to offer a smoother experience while making navigation around the UI, and gaming experience smoother. It encloses in a striped pattern finish on the back, wherein the Galaxy M12 had a dual-tone finish. There’s an LED flash flushed on to the rear finish under the camera module; for authentication, the device utilises a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The device comes in three colour variants comprising Sea Green, Sky Blue, and Celestial Black.

Under the hood, the Galaxy F12 equips an in-house developed Exynos 850 processor, which is built on an 8nm process. It utilizes Cortex A55 CPU and for graphics, has a Mali-G52 MP1 GPU. The device features up to 4GB RAM (LPDDR4x) and comes with either 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. There’s an additional microSD expansion for up to 1TB. It ships with the latest Android 11 out of the box that runs on Samsung’s OneUI 3.1 Core.


The cameras on the back comprise a 48MP primary shooter, which is a GM2 sensor coupled with Isocell Plus technology. The cameras here claim to capture rich colours backed with sharp details. The primary camera is coupled with a 5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera; a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera as well. For selfies, it features an 8MP front camera.


The Galaxy M12 features a monstrous 6000mAh battery capacity. It further supports 15W Adaptive Fast Charging.

The other highlights of the device include Widevine L1 certification for the display; Dolby Atmos certification, for audio; fast Face Unlock, for authentication.

The Samsung Galaxy F12 launched in India at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant; the 4GB+128GB RAM costs Rs 11,999. The device will be available for purchase through and Flipkart starting from April 12th. There’s an introductory offer for consumers who are interested in buying through ICICI Bank Credit or Debit cards; with which they get a Rs 1,000 instant cashback making the Galaxy F12 come at Rs 9,999 and Rs 10,999 for the larger storage variant.
