UPDATE: Samsung has announced two new successor Galaxy A series phones — the Galaxy A52 and the A72 in the country. While these were launched globally, not long ago, the company came with three models — the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G, and the Galaxy A72. Samsung India however is currently bringing the LTE variants of the new Galaxy A series devices. Both the A52 and A72 come with LTE support and with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G SoC, under the hood. The Galaxy A52 retails at Rs 26,499 for 6GB+128GB variant, and Rs 27,999 for 8GB+128GB model.

Samsung Galaxy A52 and A52 5G launched with 64MP Quad-rear cameras, and higher refresh rate displays

Samsung Galaxy A52 devices are now official. After numerous leaks and rumours, Samsung has finally put them to an end with a global launch of these devices alongside the anticipated Galaxy A72 smartphone as well. These Galaxy A52 devices come with brighter screens than the predecessors. They also feature higher refresh rate displays, which is supposedly first in the Galaxy A series of devices. It appears Samsung has decided to bring in flagship goodies to the higher mid-range devices as well; including 5G capabilities. Yes, the Galaxy A52 series has a regular Galaxy A52 smartphone as well as the Galaxy A52 5G variant. While both retain mostly similar specs; they differ when it comes to processor and storage variants.

Galaxy A52 and A52 5G — Design and Display

Both the devices feature Super AMOLED Infinity-O displays with brightness going all the way up to 800nits. They measure 6.5-inches each and come with Full HD+ resolution. The Galaxy A52 comes with a 90Hz refresh rate; the 5G variant however has a 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays have a 407ppi pixel density coupled with ‘Eye Care’, ‘Eye Comfort Shield’ certifications. These displays enclose in a soft-edge design and minimal camera housing, according to Samsung.

Both the Galaxy A52 devices feature unspecified octa-core processors; Galaxy A52 SoC achieves clock speeds up to 2.3GHz, and the 5G variant features up to 2.2GHz. Though they’re unspecified it is evident the A52 5G has a 5G capable processor. On the storage front, the Galaxy A52 could come in 4/6/8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A52 5G starts at 6GB of RAM, also there’s an 8GB RAM variant; the built storage options include 128/256GB. Both the devices have expandable storage option through microSD up to 1TB.


There’s four rear cameras’ arrangement on both the devices. The new minimal housed camera module comprises a 64MP f/1.8 primary sensor with OIS. It accompanies a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide; coupled with 5MP macro and depth sensors each. The rear cameras further support up to 10x digital zoom. For video, the rear camera 4K video recording. Besides, there’s AI Scene optimiser coupled with Night mode, AR Emoji, Fun Mode, and more other camera features. On the front, the punch hole cutout carries a 32MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture.


There’s a decent 4500mAh battery equipped in both devices. It charges via USB Type-C and supports Samsung’s 25W Fast Charging.

Galaxy A52 and A52 5G — Other Highlights

These devices feature an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. They ship with Android 11 based OneUI 3.0. Samsung is further promising software updates for a minimum of four years. The devices further feature NFC for payments. For audio, they come with AKG-powered stereo speakers. The devices utilize on-screen fingerprint sensors for authentication.

Galaxy A52 and A52 5G — Pricing

The Galaxy A52 and A52 5G devices have seen a global launch hence the Indian pricing is yet to be announced. However, the global pricing of these devices starts at €349 (Rs 30,200 approx.) for the Galaxy A52 (6GB+128GB). The larger 8GB+128GB comes at €409 (Rs 35,400 approx.). The 5G variant retails at €429 (Rs 37,100) for 6GB+128GB, €489 (Rs 42,300 approx.). Both the devices come in Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White colour variants.
