However, it seems that Xiaomi might not brand it as Redmi S2 in India. Instead, it could launch as the Redmi Y2. This is also hinted by the company highlighting the ‘Y’ in Red colour. That said, there is also a lot of anticipation for the Mi A2 launch in India but it doesn’t seem to be happening for now.

As for the Redmi S2’s calibre and appearance, all is revealed already. The Mi 6X lookalike sports a metal chassis with the front being dominated by a 5.99-inch HD+ display. It’ll be using the trusty Snapdragon 625 SoC and RAM and storage variants will be 3GB +32GB/4GB + 64GB.

Of course, the star of the show would be the 16MP selfie shooter with auto HDR and 1080p videos. The rear side’s 12MP + 5MP camera while not breathtaking has improved by order of magnitudes from Xioami’s previous Redmi offering. For full specs list, visit this link.

The big talking point with Xiaomi is always pricing. While the handset is priced 999 Yuan in China, we wouldn’t be surprised if Xiaomi launched it with around Rs 8,999 price tag in India.
