Official Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro banners with specs pop up online

The Redmi Note 5 launch is almost upon us as Xiaomi will unveil its 5th generation of Redmi Note devices in India tomorrow. This will be a first by Xiaomi as traditionally the phone maker launches the series first in China. Also, we’ve got leaked official renders that show a Redmi Note 5 Pro variant which is another first for the brand. And the Pro variant is what excites us in the spec sheet. The Redmi Note 5, on the other hand, simply makes do with more physical changes rather than hardware ones. Below are the official renders of both the handsets due to launch tomorrow.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro gives more reasons to fans looking for an upgrade. The highlights of the device include an improved front and rear camera, a Full-HD+ display, MIUI 9, and a new processor.

Coming to the camera, Xiaomi has endowed the Redmi Note 5 Pro with a 20MP Sony IMX376 selfie shooter. It ups the selfie game with software features like Beautify 4.0 and LED Selfie-light. Moreover, the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 636 SoC which is a better performer than the Snapdragon 625 Soc which is still in the Redmi Note 5.

Both the Redmi Note 5/ Note 5 Pro share similar 5.99-inch Full-HD+ displays with 18:9 aspect ratio. They also come with MIUI 9 and Android Nougat out of the box.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro has three variants. There’s a 3GB + 32GB variant and a 4GB + 64GB variant. However, a new 6GB + 64GB variant makes its way to the Redmi Note series for the first time.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 5 almost seems a renamed Redmi 5 Plus, as was presumed earlier. We’re sure fans will be much less enthused to see the Redmi Note 5 variant as it simply offers just a display upgrade. For more info just look at the official render above. Prices of the Redmi Note 5 Pro variant are bound to be higher as it packs a better punch.

Stay tuned for the launch event tomorrow as we’ll bring you the price details of the Redmi Note 5 series.
