Xiaomi is one of those companies who single-handedly took over the entire Indian Smartphone Market. Xiaomi does this with essentially two sub-brands:
- Redmi Series – entry-level to mid-range phones
- Mi Series – Mid-range to flagships
While all smartphone companies in the world are known for their most expensive devices, Xiaomi has become a household name due to the Redmi Series. This Series has been one of the most popular and maybe even the longest(successfully) running smartphone sub-brand. The Redmi 4 and Note 4 completely owned the majority of 2017, but now it’s time for their successor. Enter Redmi 5.
The Redmi latest 5th generation with the Redmi Note 5A standard edition and Redmi Note 5A higher edition. have turned out to be amazing smartphones. The improvement in performance and build is evident and the 5th gen looks and feels like a complete Redmi Device.
While the entire design is very similar to last year’s, with a metal build, similar port placements, and even display, this new series will come with the future-proof USB-C port.
It will sport a Snapdragon 630 inside along with a Dual camera setup. Xiaomi already has dual camera setups in the Mi5x/ Mi A1, which are around the same price bracket, so it wouldn’t be surprising.
The camera configuration is expected to be 16 MP + 5 MP combination. On the other hand, front camera will be a beefy 12 MP sensor. Other features like 4G VoLTE, 4000mAh battery rating, and MIUI 9 will be present.
The Redmi 5 is expected to launch by the end of this year and will start selling within a few days of release.
