Realme GT 2 Pro to Be Officially Announced on December 9: Everything We Know So Far

Realme will be announcing the launch of the Realme GT 2 Pro in China on December 9th. The company confirmed this about the upcoming flagship via its official Weibo account yesterday. The device is confirmed to feature the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which was launched by Qualcomm earlier this month. The Realme GT 2 Pro’s announcement date will be clashing with the Moto Edge X30’s launch as Motorola already had confirmed it is on December 9th.

Realme posted a teaser on Weibo, revealing the announcement date of the Realme GT 2 Pro. It does not clearly indicate anything on the launch plans, though Realme VP Madhav Sheth recently suggested a December announcement in the works.

Realme GT 2 Pro Expected Specifications

91Mobiles, in collaboration with renowned tipster OnLeaks, has shared the first renders and specs of the Realme GT 2 Pro. As per the report, the phone will reportedly feature a horizontal camera module on the rear side that looks similar to yesteryear’s Nexus 6P. The rear camera module houses triple cameras including the dual 50MP sensors, GR lens, and dual-LED flash cutouts.

In terms of specifications, the Realme GT 2 Pro is likely to feature a large 6.8-inch WQHD+ flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. As mentioned above, the smartphone is tipped to feature a triple-rear camera setup that could include a 50MP primary wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and an 8MP telephoto sensor. At the front, there’s a 32MP snapper for selfies and video calls.

Earlier reports claimed that the Realme GT 2 Pro will pack up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is expected to run Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. Apart from this, the phone is also tipped to come with 125W fast charging support.

Realme is yet to confirm the specifications of the Realme GT 2 Pro. However, they did say the phone would mark the starting point for the brand’s journey into the high-end global market. The report also mentioned that the Realme GT 2 Pro would arrive sometime in Q1 2022 in India.
