Design and Display

The Realme 8s 5G has an Infinite Star Design, which the company suggests is inspired by the universe and starry sky. This frosted design on the rear aims to resist fingerprints. The design further implements a beam texture alongside texture process to achieve the glittery star’s moving effect. The device will be available in two colour options — Universe Blue, and Universe Purple.

The device comes with a large 6.5-inches Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, accompanied by a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display further supports 16.7 million colours, achieves 600 nits of peak brightness, and has a 90.5% screen to body ratio.

For authentication, the Realme 8s 5G sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which acts as a power button too.

The Realme 8s 5G debuts MediaTek’s Dimensty 810 5G SoC. The octa-core processor operates on two big Arm Cortex A76 cores and promises clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz. For graphics, the chipset uses Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Since it is a 6nm process SoC, it claims to be finer, more advanced and resulting in lower power consumption when compared to a 7nm processor. Moreover, the device runs on realme UI 2.0 (based on Android 11).

For storage, the Realme 8s 5G features up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. There is Dynamic RAM expansion (i.e Virtual RAM of up to 5GB), and as well an expandable storage option up to 1TB via microSD.

The Realme 8s 5G equips a 64MP Nightscape camera coupled with a B&W portrait lens and a macro lens. The primary camera comes with an f/1.8 aperture and an 80.5-degree field of view. For better low light photography, it features Super Nightscape Intelligent Algorithm and Multi-frame Synthesis Engine technology. The black and white portrait lens further sports colour filters for stylish bokeh shots. And, the 4cm macro lens to capture macroscopic shots.

There’s a 16MP AI-powered selfie shooter on the front with an f/2.1 aperture that supports AI beauty mode, and portrait mode, to name a few.

The Realme 8s 5G packs in a decent 5000mAh battery capacity. It charges via USB Type-C and supports 33W Dart Charge as well.
