Razer is a well-known name for gamers as well as PC enthusiasts. If you didn’t know, Razer is on its way to enter the smartphone market with their first smartphone – the Razer Phone, scheduled to launch on November 1st, that is tomorrow. Razer has been planning to enter the smartphone realm right from the beginning of 2017, and with that in mind, they acquired a popular startup smartphone manufacturer Nextbit.
We are just hours away from the actual launch of Razer Phone and a product listing of the alleged smartphone has been spotted on a UK based mobile carrier’s website today. Though the listing was taken down, it did reveal key specifications of the upcoming Razer Phone.
The Razer Phone was listed out of stock on the product page and the image on the page seems to be a placeholder, except the fact that it looked quite a bit like the Robin – a cloud-based Android smartphone released by Nextbit in 2015.
Now, talking about the specifications mentioned on the product page, Razer Phone is expected to sport a 5.72-inch IGZO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and wide color gamut. The handset might also feature dual front-firing speakers with Dolby Atmos and THX certified amplifiers and a dual camera setup at the back. With the 12MP f/1.75 regular lens and 13MP f/2.6 zoom lens, the implementation seems similar to that of the iPhone 8 Plus or Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
The listing reveals that the Razer Phone might have 8GB of RAM as rumored and a 4000mAh battery with QuickCharge 4+ support. Even though the processor used is not mentioned here, chances are the handset will feature a Snapdragon 835. Note that Snapdragon 835 is the only high-end Qualcomm SoC which supports QuickCharge 4+ technology. As far as storage is concerned, the Razer Phone is said to offer 64GB internal memory and there is no word about memory expansion in the listing.
The specifications mentioned above are quite in line with those popped up on GFXBench a few days ago. According to the GFXBench listing, Razer Phone is expected to feature a Quad-HD screen, a 7MP front-facing camera, and Android 7.1 Nougat.
Of course, this is not the complete spec sheet, but it gives a clear idea where Razer is headed with their first ever smartphone. They have already mentioned that the Razer Phone will be a multimedia and gaming powerhouse and the leaked specifications further strengthen the claim.
The Razer Phone will be unveiled at an event held in London, on November 1st. The keynote is scheduled for 8 PM GMT and you can watch the live-stream here.
