Huawei just shook the whole smartphone world with their camera beasts, the P20 and P20 Pro. While all the eyes are on these two devices, there is another Huawei device that might make you forget these. After the P20 and P20 pro, Huawei CEO announced the all-new Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS, and it looks really premium.
The Porsche Design phone
The Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS looks like a completely different device, but it actually is just a heavily-upgraded P20 Pro. The display is a 6-inch curved OLED panel with a Quad-HD resolution. The display comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9, which is due to the notch-less design. Now, you might have heard dual-cameras a lot, but what about dual-fingerprint scanners? Well, this one has it. The Mate RS comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner on the display. The second fingerprint scanner sits at the back of the phone in a more conventional place.
Coming to the specs, it’s exactly the same as the P20 pro with the Kirin 970 and 6GB of RAM. The Mate RS comes in two massive storage options of 256GB and 512GB, which is more than what most phones offer.
The camera setup is also exactly the same triple camera setup of the P20 pro, with just the placement being a little more centred. It comes in two colours, Black and Red, both of which look very sporty.
Now coming to the price, the Porsche design Mate RS’ 256GB variant costs €1,695 (approximately Rs 1,36,800) and the 512GB variant will be a whopping €2,095 (approximately Rs 1,69,000).
These prices are clearly very high, but they are also not meant for the everyday consumer. The Mate RS is no doubt an overkill for the general consumer. But, it is a testimony to how crazy the brand can go. The Porsche Desing Huawei Mate RS will be available starting April 12.
