POCO M3 with Snapdragon 662 SoC and 48MP triple rear cameras launched in India at Rs 10,999


After the recent launch in the global market, POCO M3 is now official in India. The global launch took place in November, last year, priced at $149 (Rs 11,000 approx.) for the 4GB+64GB variant. The Indian pricing and storage variants, however, differ for the Indian market. The phone comes in two storage variants, triple rear cameras and a bigger battery. Let’s get right into what it has got to offer.

POCO M3 — Display and Design

The POCO M3 features a Dot Drop (aka dewdrop) display. It measures 6.53-inches and comes with 1080p Full HD+ resolution. It has 19.5:9 aspect ratio and achieves 90.34% screen to body ratio. The POCO M3 display further comes with TÜV Rheinland and Widevine L1 certification. There’s Corning Gorilla Glass 3, for protection on top of the display.


This Full HD+ display encloses in a polycarbonate body on the rear, which features rounded edges and has leather textured back. This finish promises zero fingerprints, smudges, and further claims to have an ergonomic design to handhold it comfortably. The finish includes three colour variants comprising — Power Black, Cool Blue, and POCO Yellow. For authentication, the device opts for a side-mounted fingerprint sensor this time.


POCO M3 — Specs and Cameras

Underneath, the device attains Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, the octa-core processor with clock speeds of 2.0GHz. The storage options include 6GB of RAM (LPDDR4X), and 64GB (UFS2.1) storage or, 128GB (UFS2.2) storage option. There’s additional Micro SD expansion also available for up to 512GB.

For cameras, the POCO M3 equips a bigger rectangular module on the back, which features triple rear cameras on one side, and POCO branding on the other side. The triple rear cameras comprise a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture. Followed by two 2MP sensors, one for depth and one for macro, both with f/2.4 apertures. For selfies, the M3 equips an 8MP f/2.05 selfie shooter. For video, the rear cameras support 1080p recording at 30fps.


POCO M3 — Battery

The M3 draws power from a massive 6000mAh battery capacity. It charges through USB Type-C and supports the company’s 18W fast charging. POCO is also providing a 22.5W fast charger in the box.

The other highlights of the device include dual VoLTE, dual VoWi-Fi, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, FM, IR Blaster, AI Face Unlock, and dual Hi-Res certified speakers.

POCO M3 — Pricing

The POCO M3 retails at Rs 10,999 for 6GB+64GB variant and the larger 6GB+128GB costs Rs 11,999 in the country. There’s first sale effective price offering from POCO, which makes these variants cost Rs 1,000 less. The POCO M3 will be Flipkart exclusive and first sale of it starts from February 9th.
