OPPO Reno 5 series are the next anticipated smartphones from the Chinese OEM maker. During this year, the company has introduced its OPPO Reno 4 series including its 5G variants as well. After nearly four months of its launch, it appears details are surfacing on the web suggesting the successor OPPO Reno 5 series. Sources indicate that there are multiple Reno 5 series phones in the pipeline including 4G and 5G variants.
OPPO Reno 5 Series — Reno 5 4G, Reno 5 5G
To begin with, OPPO is gearing up to launch the upcoming Reno 5 series sooner than expected, according to tipster Chun (goes by Twitter handle @chunvn8888). The tipster suggests that the company is planning to launch the Reno 5 series as early as next month; or in early January, for that matter.
The Reno 5 will feature in two variants both in 4G and 5G, the tipster suggests. The Reno 5 4G will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC. It will be featuring OPPO’s first-gen Super VOOC 50W charging support as well. On the other hand, the OPPO Reno 5 5G will feature Qualcomm’s 5G capable 765G chipset. This device will, however, support the company’s latest second-gen Super VOOC 65W fast charging support.
The tipster further reveals that Reno 5 series would be an incremental upgrade from the Reno 4 series. The former would share nearly comparable design elements when compared to the Reno 4 series. The minor change, however, happens to be the selfie cameras on the front. It appears the OPPO Reno 5 will have a single 44MP punch hole camera, instead of two, as featured in Reno 4 series. And, the tipster further points out that we could expect a 64MP primary rear camera on the OPPO Reno 5 as well.
OPPO Reno 5 Series — Reno 5 Pro, Reno 5 Pro+
The tipster also assures there are two Reno 5 Pro models in the pipeline — one catered to the Chinese market and the other would be acting as a global variant. While both feature 5G, the Reno 5 Pro global variant will utilize a Snapdragon 765G chipset and the Chinese variant would feature a Dimnesity 1000+ chipset. Also, there’s another Reno 5 series smartphone — the Reno 5 Pro+, which will feature the new Snapdragon 875 (or 865 ultras), according to the tipster. However, the Reno 5 Pro+ will not be available outside China.

Meanwhile, another tipster Mukul Sharma has spotted TENAA listings of the alleged Reno 5 Pro smartphone, which reveal the design and expected specifications of the device. The TENAA listings here according to the tipster and the specs revealed by Chun sound affirmative. Firstly, the TENAA listings also suggest that Reno 5 Pro will feature a Dimentsity 1000+ chipset, which makes the device 5G capable.
The listings further point out that the alleged Reno 5 Pro would be featuring a 6.55-inches Full HD+ display. The storage options include either 8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of onboard storage. A decent 4250mAh battery should power the Reno 5 Pro with 66W fast charge support. The listings also point out quadruple rear 64MP+8MP+2MP+2MP cameras and a 32MP selfie shooter.
While most of the specs, according to both these tipster/leaksters sound confirming — many of them don’t. Nonetheless, these listings and tipped specs point out the Reno 5 series smartphones launch is sooner than anticipated.
