February could be named as the most flexible month of the year in the tech world, for many brands have been teasing to showcases or launch their respective foldable smartphones. A piece of fresh news has arrived regarding yet another foldable smartphone that is believed to arrive in February. It’s the OPPO foldable smartphone.
OPPO Foldable Smartphone: A reality soon?
We know from late last month that OPPO has planned this quite a while ago that they’d be conducting an event on February 23 in Barcelona, ahead of the MWC 2019 keynote. It’s event dubbed as OPPO 2019 Innovation Event. The primary tech that is believed to showcase is the 10x Optical Zoom technology on a smartphone.
Interestingly, ahead of the launch event, a patent WIPO popped up yesterday that was noticed by 91Mobiles. The freshly published patent on the World Intellectual Property Organisation gives us an idea of how OPPO’s foldable phone could work. There are two drawings that have been leaked, one of which showcases the front of the phone.
These drawings suggest that OPPO foldable phone will comprise of the three components. Where the two parts will be screens, one would be a connector module. Further, it is believed to pack a dual camera, as the cutouts can be seen. From the drawings, it looks like the connector module will fold like a book.
It could be possible that we may see a working prototype at the stage, or better a proper announcement of the handset, because why not, brands like Samsung and Xiaomi have already made their official plans public.
