Oppo has officially confirmed the launch of the Oppo F7 on March 26th. The device is a major one, for it will make the company a true selfie leader and expert. As can be expected, the phone will arrive in a dashing Red coloured variant. The company has also given us some other valuable information about the device and the rest has been delivered to us through leaks and rumours.
The phone will be released just a day before the Huawei P20 and the Mi Mix 2s. However, the latter two are not launching in India. On the other hand, Oppo has chosen India to launch the Oppo F7 first. Let’s look at the probable specs, features and price of the Oppo F7.
Oppo F7 leaks: price
The Oppo F7 is likely to be priced humbly and yet not so low. The company is coming up with premium specs like an AI-enabled 25MP selfie camera along with a respectable combination of RAM and ROM. The phone can be a mid-range phone with its range between Rs 20,000 and Rs 26,000.
No leak or rumour has yet disclosed the pricing of the phone and we are just estimating its rate based on its specs and features. If you ask us, this is a pretty respectable price range for a phone which eerily resembles the iPhone X.
Oppo F7 leaks: specs and features
The Oppo F7 appeared in a press release recently and Oppo itself outed a few valuable details of the phone. We came to know of a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280p. The screen-to-body ratio of the phone was mentioned to be 89 percent. The device will also have an unusual 19:9 aspect ratio display. What is weird about the phone is that the company has patented the use of notch in its smartphones with triangular, rectangular etc shaped notches.
Is Oppo learning too much from Apple or is this just a way to provide a cheap doppelganger of the iPhone X? Only time will tell.
The camera department is basically the USP of the phone with an AI-enabled 25MP selfie camera. “Images taken with the OPPO F7 will have a greater range of luminance levels when shot in bright sunlight or the shade”, says the company.
The phone is likely to derive its power from a MediaTek processor with a respectable RAM + ROM combination. Of course, the phone contains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a single speaker and a USB port. The volume buttons are on the left while the power button is on the left. What we miss is the position of the fingerprint sensor. There are infinite possibilities when it comes to the biometric security of the device.
Oppo can include the scanner on the power button or place it on the back panel, comfortably. However, with Vivo working on an in-display fingerprint sensor technology, its sister company is less-likely to fall far behind. Another thing which Oppo can do is including a Facial Recognition feature in the package with a fingerprint sensor on the back. The last possibility looks more probable and you can expect the same on the device.
So, here it is, all we know about the upcoming Oppo F7 at one place. The phone is releasing on March 26 in India. We will keep you posted about every little detail about the phone as soon as a leak surfaces.
