OPPO could introduce a 10X optical zoom technology on January 16 in China


The Chinese smartphone maker, OPPO has shared a banner on its Weibo page possibly teasing about a new 10X optical zoom technology. The smartphone brand who has been sitting on the innovation of many new technologies past couple of years could introduce one more innovation on January 16.

According to the banner posted, the company is conducting an event in China where the brand could share something regarding the 10X zoom camera tech, as suggested on a report posted by 91Mobiles. The translated text on the banner reads, “Ten for see OPPO 2019 Future technology communication conference, January 16th, Beijing.” And that is considered as an indication to the introduction of the 10X lossless zoom functionality. 

OPPO 10X Optical Zoom: could it be coming soon?

We recall two years ago during MWC 2017 week, the company demoed its 5X dual Zoom camera setup, which hasn’t hit the shelves yet. And here we are to believe that the company could be introducing a 10X optical zoom tech. That’s a little absurd you might think. But there were reports that the company is finally bringing that tech to its smartphone line-up this year by MWC 2019.

As is known that the conglomerates like to stay on top of innovation and that may be the case here. If there is an announcement of the 10X optical zoom tech happens on the 16th of Jan, then we might surely see at least 5X optical zoom setup make it to its line-up soon. In a world here the companies have been competing to offer best-in-class camera features on their respective phones. It is not hard to believe that OPPO could very well be planing a 10X lossless zoom functionality.

In a related news, OPPO could introduce this tech on its rumoured handset, the F19 and the F19 Pro. This F19 Pro duo is could come in with triple rear camera setup and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 SoC. Further, the displays on these models could offer higher screen-to-body ratio. There is not much known about these new F series phones. Stay tuned in for more updates on this.
