The newly-launched OPPO A3s is a budget phone with an iPhone X-like notch

We haven’t seen a phone with a notch under Rs 15,000 in India yet, and the OPPO A3s changes that. The Oppo A3s is probably India’s first phone launched with a notch at Rs 10,999. The handset is identical to the Oppo A5 that launched in China in all respects except that it has less RAM and storage.

The OPPO A3s packs a big 6.2-inch display with an HD+ (720×1520p) resolution. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 88.8 percent. It also rocks a middling octa-core Snapdragon 450 mobile CPU that ticks along at 1.8GHz. The handset is available in only one variant though – 2GB + 16GB. Thankfully, the internal storage space is expandable via a microSD card by up to 256GB.

The OPPO A3s is also the brand’s device that uses a separate sensor to measure depth for the Bokeh effect surprisingly. There’s a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary one with LED flash while the front has a single 8MP shooter with AI Beauty 2.0 software.

The latest entry-level phone from OPPO runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box but is bundled with ColorOS 5.1. The A3s has a pretty chunky 4230mAh battery that will support 4G VoLTE as well.
