OnePlus TV name revealed, to come with support for Jio streaming apps

If you’ve been following the television market in India, you must be aware that ever since Xiaomi entered the game, things have changed. The Chinese giant brought about good televisions priced quite decently to abrupt the market. Following their success, OnePlus also announced its plans to enter the TV market with its own OnePlus TV. And now, we finally have some information about what the TV would be called as well as its compatibility for streaming apps.

OnePlus TV features

OnePlus has officially announced that their first television will be called the OnePlus TV. Yes, that’s right. Just OnePlus TV. As plain as it sounds, that is exactly the intention of the company. “Yes, we are going to call our very first smart TV product ‘OnePlus TV’ – simple yet to-the-point – as we believe there’s no other name that can best represent our value, vision, and pride than naming it with our own brand,” said OnePlus in a forum post.

Apart from the official name, new reports have emerged about the company’s partnership with Jio. Sources suggest that Jio is testing the compatibility of its apps with the OnePlus TV at the moment. In fact, the upcoming TV will feature Jio streaming apps such as JioCinema, JioSaavn, and more. That said, so far there has been no word about this officially from either team.

OnePlus TV launch date in India

As of now, the company has kept its silence about the launch date of their TV. However, if previous reports are to be believed, the TV could be launched around September 26th. It is likely to come in four different sizes of 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch. You can read more about it here.
