OnePlus 9 RT is likely to launch in India and China in October. As the name suggests, it will be arriving as an upgraded version of the OnePlus 9R that debuted earlier this year. The latest report claims that the OnePlus is working on a new smartphone for its ‘T’ series and it will be the numbered flagship series smartphone from the brand to come this year. Apart from the OnePlus 9 RT, OnePlus is also expected to announce two mid-range phones in the Nord lineup.
Earlier reports were doing the rounds that the OnePlus 9T will not launch this year. But now as per Android Central’s latest report, the next phone in the T series, for this year at least, will be the OnePlus 9 RT launching in October for the Indian and Chinese markets. As the name suggests, it will be a tweaked version of the OnePlus 9R which is the cheapest offering in the OnePlus 9 series.
OnePlus 9 RT specifications (rumoured)
As for the specifications, this rumoured OnePlus 9RT is said to feature the same 120Hz AMOLED panel as the OnePlus 9R, comes with 65W fast charging support, a 4,500mAh battery, and could be coming with a “higher-binned version of the Snapdragon 870.” However, there will be camera-focused upgrades to look forward to, as per the report. The OnePlus 9 RT is said to have a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor that was seen in the OnePlus 9 lineup and the Nord 2; the OnePlus 9R features a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, for those unaware.
In terms of software, the report further adds that this will be the first OnePlus phone with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box. It will likely bring more ColorOS features like floating resizable windows, a theme store, and ColorOS’ Private Safe. The report further suggests, the OxygenOS 12 is believed not to have Google’s new Material You aesthetic.
Apart from Oneplus 9 RT, the report also claims that there will reportedly be two Nord models launching later this year, but it isn’t clear whether these will be in India or for global markets. However, considering the Nord 2 launch last month, we can expect these to be part of the Nord N-series.
