No more speculation: the Xiaomi Mi 8 will finally be released next week, at a May 31st event in the city of Shenzhen. This news was confirmed by Donovan Sung, Xiaomi’s global spokesperson, through his social media accounts.
The Mi 8 will join the current Xiaomi portfolio of devices that the company plans to present at this event. The May 31st event is being held to commemorate the company’s eighth anniversary.

The promotional poster shared by Sung does not confirm too many details about the device and just shows the Xiaomi mascot. However, a few days ago we were able to know some of the characteristic features of the new Peking star phone, including a fingerprint reader built under the glass of the screen.
Apart from that, the Mi 8 is expected to incorporate the best specifications available today in the sector, including a Snapdragon 845 processor, large bezel-less display – and, if the rumors do not lie, a ‘notch’ on the top. There are rumors that the notch might house a complex sensor array for FaceID.
Along with the Xiaomi Mi 8, we are expecting the arrival of the Mi 7 , and the Xiaomi Mi band 3. Anyway, at the moment the only thing that is confirmed is that the Mi 8 will be released next Thursday. The rest of the devices have still been kept well hidden.
