The Snapdragon 710 is the newest piece of silicone on the circuit and it has already found its first home. The chipset based on the 10nm process now sits in the brand new Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. Now, we’ve heard of another handset that could feature the powerful SoC. As per a post by Roland Quandt, HMD Global, the home of Nokia, is working on such a device. It is codenamed Nokia Phoenix.
What are the Nokia Phoenix specifications?
Quandt wrote that the mystery device is codenamed “Phoenix” and could see the light of day anytime during Autumn/Winter 2018. Now, we’re in short supply of information regarding this purported Nokia Phoenix smartphone as this is the first instance we’ve come to know of it. Nor can we provide any eye-candy for you at this point in time. However, it is reasonable to assume this will be a pretty powerful handset with mid-range internals like 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. We can’t rule out Zeiss-branded dual cameras and Android 8.1 Oreo either.
Don’t be disheartened though, as we’ve got quite some distance to cover before Autumn. So, keep your hopes for a potential bare-all leak in the coming months from Quandt himself. The tipster also said in the same tweet that Google’s rumored device based on the same chip is called “Bonito”. This Bonito could be the mid-range Pixel phone we reported earlier today.
