Nokia 8 starts receiving the Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update

HMD Global owned Nokia has started rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update for the Nokia 8 units. The phone has received the stable Android 8.0 Oreo build just a couple of days ago. 

Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer of Nokia, announced this news on Twitter. The company has decided to test the Android 8.1 Oreo starting with the Nokia 8. This move by the company has placed the Nokia 8 on a pedestal since it is the first non-Google device to receive the latest Android version.

The beta-build is 1.55GB in size and you can download it through Wi-Fi only. The build doesn’t bring any major change to the device.The phone has received some updates like a fixed hamburger emoji, better battery performance and, Bluetooth battery percentage display.

Nokia 8 has a 5.3-inch display. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage on the phone is 64GB and can be expanded up to 256GB through a microSD card. 

The optics on the phone include a 13MP rear camera sensor as well as a 13MP front camera sensor. The device is powered by a 3090mAh battery.
