Nokia 8.3 5G is HMD’s first truly global 5G smartphone

HMD Global has announced its first 5G smartphone with a host of features that you haven’t seen before on a Nokia smartphone. The handset is dubbed as Nokia 8.3 5G. This is Nokia’s attempt to offer a future-ready handset with future-ready network connectivity. Nokia’s latest is truly a global 5G smartphone as it offers more 5G bands than any other handset out there. Thus, making it a global handset. Let’s talk about its specifications and pricing below. 

Nokia 8.3 5G – Specifications 

Sporting a 6.81-inch Full-HD+ resolution with HDR and adaptive display support. The punch-hole display ensures you have the larger real estate for full-screen viewing experience. It’s on the upper left corner. The device will be available in only one colour, polar night inspired by northern lights. Positioned in the flagship killer segment, this Nokia smartphone brings a Qualcomm 700 series chipset. 

Powered by a Snapdragon 765 SoC, which is accompanied by two RAM and storage configurations, 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot. Being a part of the Android One program, this handset will be getting security updates for 3 years and guaranteed major updates for 2 years.

Speaking about the camera department, it has a quadruple rear camera setup in a circular manner. The dual-LED flash is placed outside the circle. Powered by ZEISS optics, the primary lens is a 64MP sensor and a secondary lens is a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The camera setup is designed keeping in mind the video recording and low-light performance. OZO audio makes sure you get the best in class audio recording. 

The other two sensors are depth and macro lens. The selfie camera is of 24MP resolution with ZEISS optics, sitting in the punch-hole. All this is powered by a 4500mAh capacity battery with 18W fast charging technology. 

Nokia 8.3 5G – Price & Availability 

Nokia says that its new handset will be made available in summer for a price of 599 euros. That roughly translates to Rs 48,000 approximately, which is a hefty price considering it’s not powered by a flagship processor.
